First it was Oppo, now it’s Xioami launching new devices that come with a super-fast charger in the box. Thanks to the inclusion of this vital free accessory, these two Chinese companies are beating Samsung as all new Galaxy smartphones only come with a USB-C charging cable and nothing else. It’s a move by the Korean tech giant to reduce packaging and the amount of e-waste it creates.
However, just like the recent Oppo Reno 8 Pro, Xiaomi’s latest 12T Pro bucks this trend as it comes with an extremely fast 120W HyperCharge power supply.
This means owners can go from completely flat to full in less than 20 minutes and all without having to spend a penny more on sockets.
Galaxy owners who want to boost their batteries at a fast pace currently need to add this £30 accessory to their basket when purchasing their shiny new device.
Along with this fast charging, the Xiaomi 12T Pro also gets plenty of other great features including the latest and greatest Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 processor, a huge 5000mAh battery and a 6.67-inch 120Hz CrystalRes AMOLED display. Xiaomi promises that users will be treated to a razor-sharp image on this screen thanks to the eye-popping Dolby Vision and HDR10+ technology which are both included to help enhance the visuals.

Spin this phone and there’s a triple camera array with a massive 108MP pro-grade main camera. That sits alongside an 8MP ultra-wide camera and a 2MP macro camera for enhanced close-ups. As well as taking great photos during the day, the 12T Pro should perform well in low light conditions and it’s also capable of recording video in full 8K quality.
Other extras built into the 12T Pro include speakers powered by the audio experts at Harman Kardon, an in-display fingerprint scanner, and full access to fast 5G that offers 300Mbps downloads when you are far from your broadband.
It will be available from October 20 for £699, which is very reasonable given the spec sheet.
Does that seem too expensive? Worry not as Xiaomi is also launching a standard 12T variant which offers slightly less functionality but starts from just £499.
It’s worth noting that anyone pre-ordering one of these devices will get £100 off that standard price.
There’s even more good news for those who buy the 12T Pro with Xiaomi also launching a free Redmi Pad tablet.
